On Wednesday I participated in a game of kickball with some ruffians from Clarion University. It was awesome and I felt pretty good about my performance on the field and at the plate (or, in this case, piece of foam). All of the fun had a hefty price tag, however—a price tag that was not visible on the shelf. It appeared yesterday as I made my way up to the checkout: $extreme soreness of all lower extremities.00.
I think I was even more sore this morning, but I can’t be sure. One thing I am sure of, though, is that my body has been lacking some necessary kicking for far too long and now I am paying the price. I never realized that I had been withholding this enjoyment from my legs, and I intend to change all of that just as soon as I can comfortably walk without a limp once again. I am going to make a point of forcefully kicking one thing every day to keep my legs (and buttocks, apparently) in top shape. I advise you to do the same to spare yourself this discomfort if you ever find yourself recruited into a game of kickball.

Was this hardcore kickball? ‘Cause last time I checked, it wasn’t a physically taxing “sport.”
