Last Friday while I was in Bellefonte visiting Nick we went to see Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. I enjoyed the film and would recommend that you see it. Since it is geared toward children, the ending is easily figured out early on in the movie, but it is a lot of fun getting there and seeing exactly how it is going to happen. The score was done by Danny Elfman and it was fitting. I felt that some of the songs were unnecessary—even borderline annoying— but didn’t feel that they detracted from the movie.
While I was finding links for this post I noticed that Christopher Lee was the voice of the Pastor. While I was watching the movie, I thought that the Pastor was reminiscent of Saruman. Now I think it might’ve just been because of the voice.
Currently on Rotten Tomatoes, this movie has a score of 82%.
Corpse Bride

3/4

that’s what i was trying to say last night! but i couldn’t figure out how to say it… haha
i was rather disappointed the first time the skeletons began to sing, and several times after that. i’m not sure the length or simplicity of the songs was necessary.
overall, the movie was pretty great. britt and i both agreed that it was “cute.”
